President Bush on Sunday defended his decision to attend next month’s Olympics opening ceremony in Beijing, saying that to boycott “would be an affront to the Chinese people.”
Maybe we should ask the 742 political prisoners the Chinese government imprisoned last year if they think this is an ‘affront’ to them. Personally, I think the Chinese government’s human rights abuses are a much bigger affront to the Chinese people than George Bush skipping their Olympics.
